night sweats and initial weight loss

I received a dualPM a month ago .Since then I have had night sweats and there getting worse where I have to change my tee shirt and bedding every night.I also had a loss of about 10 lbs after surgery however I am slowly gaining the weight back.In the hospital I got RED MAN syndrome during the procedure from Vanco and was not given any more anti=biotic during my stay.My question is could I have Endocarditis...the problems I have listed are symptoms of this infection. I know I have to call my cardiologist Im just wondering if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks

I had my PM placed 3wks ago and have had really bad night sweats also....I wake up soaked and don't understand why either....I'm also having lots of arrhythmias that I didn't have before and thought maybe this was causing the night sweats....I'm calling my EP office in the am and see if I can get in before my appt on Thursday and I'll ask about the night sweats....Hope you feel better soon...

Got terrible night sweats right after getting the PM. Had a lot of other things going on so didn't attribute it to the PM. And it may not be the PM, could be new medications.

Anyway, had night sweats for almost the whole first year. They gradually lessened in intensity as the year progressed.

Attribute some of it to better heart activity. Before I could never get warm. Now, with the PM working, I have better blood flow, am warmer, and don't need as many covers on the bed.

Otherwise, life is good.

Wasn't on meds the first wk and was having them then so not sure it's meds but the better heart activity and my body getting use to it could be....I'm still cold all the time though...I guess we all adjust differently...Everyone says it takes months to a year sometimes to fully feel better so I'm hoping...Will update what the DR says about it....Thanks!

went to my cardiologist today.....for the last two days I did not have any night sweats. He said sweats not related to PM..everything checked out fine... all vitals good ...I must have caught a bug and got the night sweats....Im glad the PM wasn't the cause....and so it goes

Good to hear

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
