I had my pacemaker placed in March. I have had high blood pressure for about 5 years that has been in good control with Diovan and Toprol. Right after my pacemaker was placed my blood pressure went sky high. My family dr increased my Diovan but it is still really high. I am trying to convince her to change meds. Any ideas on what is a good choice? I have afib along with my sinus brady. I see from other posts that this is a common problem. Thanks!

Your cardio and EP

Your cardiologist and EP will have to change medications with you until something works. Due to the physical makeup of our bodies, something that works very well for me may not work at all for you. Flecanide almost killed me but it works just fine for my wife. I couldn't stand Coumadin but others on this forum get along just fine with it. It just depends.
I did have trouble with my BP spiking just after I got the PM. Normally people would kill to have my BP because the numbers are almost always in the good range - even when it's "high" for me. What the doctor did was to change how the dosage was given to me. So instead of 50mg of Toporolol once a day, I got two doses of 25mg Toporolol. One in the AM and one in the PM approximately 12 hours apart. Post all the excitement I'm now on 25mg in AM and 50mg in PM. But, once again, what works for me may not work for you.
Hope they find something soon.
