Your dr needs to take you more seriously when you call. Don't give up, but maybe it's time to be the squeaky wheel.

Do NOT pull it!!! When I had that they said to clean scissors with alcohol, snip as close as possible, dab with neosporin and put a bandaid on it for a day. They told me most definitely do not pull it. I was fine after that,it healed right up.

Have you tried ice or heat for the pain?Try both, sometimes one feels better than the other.

Twitching around the device could be the nerves healing, see above advice re: heat/ice to settle it. If it's in the stomach, that could be lead placement and needs to be investigated. They can sometimes fix it by adjusting the settings. Insist on being seen. Good luck!

Call the Doctor. Do NOT pull the stitch if it is not coming out easily.

When our devices are first implanted, the voltage is set higher until our heart gets used to being paced. The stomach twitching sometimes can be corrected by lowering the voltage once the swelling goes down. It is common after a month or two to need some programming adjustments....very easy for the Doc to do.

I have had two pacemakers and now have a defibrillator. I did at one time have twitching in the abdominal area which was very irritating. When I advised the tech rep he made an adjustment to my device settings and it cleared up. I thing you just need to clip the string/stitch hanging out and it may not be a problem. I have not had pain at my incision site but it has been very sensitive to touch and when anything rubs against it. Have been more careful with movements of my left arm and it seems to improve. Still get pain sometimes at night turning over or raising the arm up to my head. You have received some very good answers to your post and hope they help you improve.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
