Your doctor will know about this

If you have been prescribed 'Ramapril' or a similar medicine, this is a possible side-effect. A simple change of medicine may cure this problem.

Good luck

Ace inhibitors

I, too, had a hacking, dry cough a couple years ago night/day/off/on. Turns out it was the Ramipril I was on, an ACE inhibitor, and that this is a very common side effect of them all. Luckily for me, I was at a point where it was safe to stop using any ACE inhibitor, I went off the med immediately without problems, and the cough was gone in less than 24 hrs. Couldn't believe it! Also, my SOB went away & my O2 levels went to high 90s, since I was getting full breaths once the coughs were gone

I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, and trying to get rid of the dry cough, I turned up the moisture on my machine & tried warmer and cooler air settings, with no change. I also ran a humidifier & de-allergized my home with no change. I then wore a dust-filter mask @ work with no change. THEN I got worried and called the EPs RN. A quick callback later and I was on my way to wellness.

Hoping you get a quick fix, also; if not, maybe you can check some of the other things I did.

Luck! ~Jane

Coughing

Since I had my PM surgery 4 wks ago and I have had a dry cough, non-productive, runny nose, and watery eyes. Seems like allergies but I have been to an allergist, my GP, and the cardio and no one seems to know why.
I wonder how many other people have this cough.
