Light headed

I had an AICD implanted June of this year, after 3 bouts of receiving a shock, my medicine has seemed to smooth things out. When I do anything physical, walking around, climbing stairs, I feel strange. Sort of light headed, sometimes some shortness of breath. Has anyone else had similar issues? Just wondering how normal this is

Condition vs device

I believe that your medical condition has more to do with how you feel than your device or the fact that you have a device. For instance, with a low EF you will get shortness of breath. An ICD is typically implanted to deal with the possible consequences of a low EF, SCA or V-Tach. Depending on how your unit is set it may not do anything for you until you go into V-Tach.

Ask you Cardiologist about the problem and discuss the settings on your unit.

Good luck!~

This breath shortness, IMO, is not normal ..particularly when simply walking . I'd definitely seek medical help ..

Hi,
Have you read the pharmacy side effects info for your medications? Is all of your medical care aware of all medications you are taking, including over the counter? Some medications have undesirable side effects when mixed. With certain medications, it is best to rise and start moving slowly, especially until your body adjusts. Please do get with your medical about your symptoms. Sometimes, just a device adjustment(s) and /or medication(s) adjustment/change is all that is needed. It is possible your symptoms are not actually heart related. Take care, and please call.
