not always convenient

I agree with the other posters: the monitor can interrogate the PM only if it's within a few feet of the monitor. This can cause a problem depending on how your bedroom is configured and where the outlets and phone jack are. We had to plug it into one wall and run the wires under the area rug so that the monitor could sit under the bed and be close enough to interrogate my PM.
Not always convenient...! But having a home monitor is a good "belt and suspenders" approach to safeguarding your health.
Mine is in an adjacent bedroom

Hi! My latitude machine is in a bedroom next to where I sleep and works just fine! Have had 4 successful remote transmissions. It is within 10 feet but works well thru the wall! Good luck!
Good question

I never gave much thought to this until I moved. For 3 years I have a sensor for my cell phone to read/transmit the information. Moved into a home with a metal roof in an area with a weak cell phone signal. Got a booster for the cell phone but still would not work for St. Jude monitor.
I had to get a land line put in. I only had two jacks installed and then I realized I wanted to switch bedrooms. After 2 months without my monitor next to me I called the company and discovered my monitor was not reading my pacemaker on a regular basis. And then, only when I went in that room and it had signaled a search.
Need to get the phone company to come and install a new jack in 2nd bedroom. A nurse encouraged me to get a longer cord and bring it into my bedroom until I get that arranged.
Always something to learn.
You know you're wired when...
You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.

I am told by the manufacturer it is only good up to ten feet away so keep it by your bedside, as I do
