I am 73 year old with early onset Parkinson's, had vasovagal syncope episodes and my physician believed a pacemaker was the course of treatment.
I had my pacemaker inserted about 1 1/2 years ago. Three
months after it rotated and the leads coiled, they tell me it is ok. I have been receiving PT at home for several months and my therapist suggest joining a gym. Can anyone advise me on what exercises to avoid and how much weight is safe to lift.

Mt EP had good advice, "if it hurts don't do it." Other than that he just said to start out slow and build up.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

Anything you are capable of lifting is most likely going to be perfectly safe. Because your leads have shifted, just be careful not to do anything that will put pressure on the leads or feels awkward. Maybe the PT could go with you the first time and help you come up with a routine? Cardiac rehab is also a good place to start if you are unsure because it's supervised by nurses. Or many gyms have personal trainers available to help you get started. Just go slowly and listen to your body, it'll tell you when a move isn't good for you or it's too heavy.
