Pacemaker saved my love of baseball

I’m kind of new to this but I figured I would post something. When I was little I grew tired all the time, but never while playing the game I love. Baseball. Eventually doctors decided it was time for me to get a pacemaker when I was nine, and asked me what my dream was. I said I wanted to play college baseball. The doctor looked me and my parents in the eye and said that was unlikely with your condition, and will be risky as the level of play increases. That’s when I decided, that I was going to do it. To a nine year old a pacemaker was an odd thing, and even more odd as I grew, with my shoulders exceeding the length of my wires. Turns out my wires began to crack and no longer had functioned, causing me to sleep everywhere I went, essentially shutting down. My senior season, I got my second pacemaker implanted 4 months before the season was set to begin, and I felt rejuvenated, with a whole new pacemaker, and a lot off odds stacked against me. Turns out, now I’m playing college baseball something that everyone, but my parents and brothers, said I couldn’t do. My pacemaker has given me drive my whole life to show people not what I can’t do, but what I can do. I owe my ability to play college baseball to my family, coaches, and my pacemaker.
