Hello, On Feb 26 I had my pacemaker replaced. I was told everything was good, but three weeks later, I woke up with swelling around the site, with pain. I was seen by the doctor a few days later. The doctor stated "he was worried about an infection, since the leads were "Yellow and Crusty", but he thinks it is a hematoma. We waited two weeks, and no improvement, so he is now thinking it is infected or the pacemaker dropped down pushing on the bottom of the pocket.Today, I had a PET/CT scan and CT Chest Scan. I have never had a fever or red, hot area, just pain and swelling.
My questions:
1. Has anyone been told their leads were yellow and crusty?
2. Has anyone had an infection without a fever?
TIA
