No maximum

I had my ablation two weeks ago and am experiencing what I think is a problem. My minimum bpm is 80 but no matter how hard I work in exercise (walking or biking mainly) it never goes over 80 and I become really short of breath. I don't get this or why there does not seem to be a maximum. I go back in three weeks for a checkup but I don't want to wait that long if there is a problem. Does anyone know what might be happening?

It is difficult to know for sure

Since you didn't complete your bio, I don't even know if you have a pacemaker? It sounds as though with the problems you are having you should be checked ASAP. Don't wait three weeks!

Call and ask to be seen. It could be you're still healing from the ablation, it could be your settings need adjusted. If your rate doesn't go up on its own, the pacer can be programmed to step in and raise your rate.

Stop trying to get your rate up until you are seen! It's hard on the body, when you get sob that's your body talking to you.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
