Pacemaker

Hi, I would like someone's opinion. I got a pacemaker about a month ago because my heart rate was dropping in the high 30's-40's. I was also having symptoms of what I thought was just going to sleep the Dr's said I was passing out. So I have started passing out again!! Well when I'm passed out I can't check my pacemaker. Should I feel my pacemaker kick in when I have these spells?? I don't know what to do!!

how you would "check" your pacemaker or ever feel it kicking in

Passing-out

There is a problem with your PM. You should not be passing-out with a PM unless it is not functioning correctly. You need to get back to your Cardiologist (EP) and get checked-out. It could be that a lead has been dislocated or that it simply needs to be adjusted.

You should be seen ASAP.

Wishing you the best!

If your passing out is due only to the HR dropping then it shoudl never happen with the PM unless something is wrong.

There can be other causes of passing out that are not HR related including drops in BP.

FWIW - the onlyl time I feel mine is when the self test is running and stimulating the lower chamber, then I feel it in my throat.  Otherwise it isn't directly noticable.

You know you're wired when...

You run like the bionic woman.
