This is such a great support group! I just put in a message last night and already I have info! To respond to ela-girl response to my inquiry...my pacemaker is Boston Scientific, Guidant. I had the PM implated in Nov 07 for bracycardia and partial heartblock. This came on suddenly---I was diagnosed in June 07 and didin't have any symptoms until Sept 07. I am 66 years old and otherwised blessed with good health. I am an exercise "addict" and have been for 30 years. I had the lead replacement last week because when on vacation in France I started noticing symptoms again. So I spent 2 nights in a hospital outside of Paris(very scarry because I don't speak French and I was not sure what was happening) Anyways the staff was great and very kind and I was relieved when the familiar blue Guidant machine showed up with the Cardiologist. He got me pacing in a safe zone to return home to have the lead replaced by my oun Dr. (as I understand it ,the old lead was placed too low plus I now have "complete " block and my ventricle is only pacing on its own 8%of the time)
Also to respond to ela-girl message on PM club Websight-it would be great to be able to have links to more info.
Thanks for the help,
Bonnie

I also had my pacemaker fitted in France in January of this year. The language is a barrier but at least they got you going again.
I am also pleased to hear of someone else who has a Guidant, not many have these.
Take care
