St. Jude now Abbot? Merlin problems????

So, Been sick all week, went to ER Friday, they diagnosed me with pulmonary hypertension.... What?   Any one have any co-diagnosis???

I thought I sent the Vetarans Hosptail a transmittion from my merlin, and I did it wrong....

Tried sending it today....and it is not transmitting past the tower symbol...

So, I called St. Jude, did not know they were sold to Abbot

I was informed if I was having problems with my Merlin at Home, to unplug it.   It is not a life saing device..... I should call them back tomorrow.   Never heard of such response.... The way I understood mine was set up was it monitors 24/7.... sends a transmission to my doc office if there is a problem.....   Some place in San Franciso monitored it 24/7 and would alert me if it showed anything unusual worth mentioning...

Has anyone been told this?

Thanks.. Carol

Pulmonary Hypertension

My husband was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.  It upset me greatly because he had no heart problems whatsoever.  About the same time he was to have a sleep study.  6 months after he started wearing a c-pap the pulmonary hypertension was gone.

Merlin@home transmitter

Hi revcarol,

When you called technical support and got that message, it was probably after hours or on a weekend; the office is open M-F, 8am-8pm, ET. It's true that the Merlin@home transmitter is not a life-saving device; it only sends data to your doctor. Your Merlin@home transmitter isn't recording the data from your implant 24/7 BUT your implant does store all that data throughout the day. The Merlin@home transmitter then takes that data from your implant between 2am and 4am in the morning. If the Merlin detects that there is something in that data the doctor should be told about (this is set by the doctor), it will send a transmissions on its own at that time.

If your transmitter was stuck at the tower icon and the progress lights were flashing simultaneously (as opposed to scrolling from L to R), the transmitter encountered an error while trying to send your data. Without knowing how you're connecting (landline, cell adapter, or broadband kit) it's difficult to say what might be causing that error. Hope you were able to call technical support and get it all sorted out :)

You know you're wired when...

You prefer rechargeable batteries.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
