CLS Tachycardia

I had biotronik epyra with CLS fitted last July for Sick Sinus Syndrome.

It's been fantastic up until the last couple of weeks when I started with palpitations and random tachycardias (between 130-140bpm). Episodes lasting anything between 2-15mins with associated sweating and lightheadedness. Episodes brought on by as little as standing up or after eating!

Pace check clinic and technician thinks it's the CLS function causing the issues. They've switched it off and unsurprisingly no more symptoms.

My issue now is that I'm constantly running slow. Paced at 45bpm at rest but hardly above 70bpm on walking with feeling of general fatigue!

I'm wandering if it's one without the other or if changes could be made to account for this.

May sound silly but I'm wandering if my heart has become reliable on the CLS and this is causing the braddycardia.

Has anyone had similar issues or any advice? I'm so fed up of bothering my pace technicians but fear yet another visit is in order!

Thanks in advance!

Palipations

My question would be what caused the change if you had CLS on for so long and suddenly it started causing pulpitations. Did you have an adjustment done? e.g. change the sensitivity

I have CLS on. I do get the occasional pulpitations (usually when I am driving) but I believe (though I haven't confirmed it) it is because I had the sensitivity set higher in order to get my heart rate up quicker when running. It is something I have chosen to live with (however if it was not working for me I would get it adjusted).

If it was me I would question what was done and whether turning CLS off was the right answer

Good luck

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
