Hey all,
I posted about a month ago to see if anyone could help me figure out my symptoms and am posting again because I'm still in pain. I started to have slight discomfort around my pacemaker site around 1.5months ago (I've had this battery since 2014) and went to my cardiologist. They gave me some pain meds and sent me on my way. 2 weeks later I left for study abroad in Santiago, Chile and I've been dealing with mild pain here and there when I get on a public bus, etc because of the movement. This past weekend we went on a trip and were in a tour bus for several hours each day which made my pain so much worse. It feels like the pacemaker is bouncing up and down in a vehicle and now it even hurts to walk/lift my arm. I went to a cardiologist here in Santiago yesteray who thinks that I fractured my rib, butt then I did research on that and my symptoms don't match and that heals quickly on its own while mine just got worse. I also have a little bit of a hard time communicating with the doctor bc of language barrier as I am still learning Spanish. I have called my doctor at home and nobody is giving me the attention I need. Do you have any idea of whats going on or any recomendations? (today I'm going in for x-rays, blood test, etc. but just in general what are your thoughs)

I just joined this forum when I read your post. I had a pacemaker placed on January 25, 2017. I called for an appointment to discuss pain and tenderness around my pacemaker on March 2. During the exam it was discovered that one of the wire leads had become dislodged from my heart and needed to be reattached. The doctor said that he would examine the placement of the pacemaker when he was doing the reattachement. My insurance comany was slow to approve the procedure so it was not done until April 4. My doctor moved the pacemaker slightly, hoping to make it more comfortable for me. After the surgery I was hopeful this was going to take care of the problem. Just in the past few days I am feeling the same discomfort and it is getting progressively worse. It is sore to the touch and I feel it when I walk, etc. I am so discouraged and wondering what the next step will be - I have not yet contacted the doctor.
It has been a while since you posted - has anything changed for you?

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
