Chest xray

Hi I was wondering if all patients that have a pacemaker undergo chest xray even without problems after 5 weeks of implant? Also what does the doctor mean when my artial lead is high? I dont understand that part. Is it a bad thing? Im really worried my lead already dislodge twice.

Some do, some don't but if yours has dislodged twice then I can see why they'd want an xray! My doctor does them annually. Not sure what they meant by high, ask them. It could mean a lot of things.

Pacemakers and x-rays

I've had x-rays since having a pacemaker - no problem.

I am not sure what they mean by "high" either, and this is speculation on my part so could well be wrong: I wonder if he means that the "resistance is high" - ie suggesting a poor electrical connection, and that the lead is not lodged into the heart well.

They did one on me in recovery after the implantation.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
