Still Not 100%

I recently had a pacemaker put in back in Sep.  The doctors is still tweaking the device to meet my standards.  Still don't feel 100% myself still.  I am 50 y/o and frequent the gym (light weights and cardio) and take martial arts classes.  My question is will I ever feel 100%?  Also, I can feel the electric pulses from one of the leads.  Is this normal?  My doctor says the lead is in place and working properly.  Anyone else have this problem.  Just wondering.  Thanks.

Depends

You don't say what kind of heart problems you have so it's hard to predict how
you will feel.  Question being if you'll  ever feel 100%.  The answer is yes,
probably.  However how long that takes depends upon what you have, what shape
you were in before you got your pacemaker, what kind of new medication you're
on, and a lot of other things.  Unfortunately you can't put a mark on the
calendar and assume you'll feel great by that date.  Your body takes it's own
time to heal and it doesn't go by a calendar.

I had CPR before I got my pacemaker and had broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Took me two years to feel "normal".  So it can take some time.

I'm also one of the sensitive people and could feel the tickle followed by the
hear thump of the heartbeat.  I had them reduce the voltage on my pacemaker and
that stopped that problem.  Let your pacemaker tech know you're being bothered.

Hope everything else is going well for you.

Testing

I am 4 months post op and pm. I was feeling the pulses when on my left side. They turned  something  down and it helped. i also feel 4 pulses 3x  a day. The ep said it was testing and offered to turn it off but I declined due to 100%pm dependent with no escape rate. Meaning I would not survive more than a few seconds if something happened to my pm. So I will deal with it best I can

... Still not 100%

I am new to this club. I am 46 and had an ICD installed in June 2018 due to a VTAC arrest. Full blown CPR, etc. I did a lot of learning in the first 3 months and fought with some very strong anxiety. My cardiac team has worked with me and answered all of my questions. One of the best things you can do is let the Cardiac Device Clinic know EVERYTHING you're feeling. They can make adjustments. I was feeling every blip. PVC's, palpitations, etc. and was getting winded while climbing stairs. They made adjustments and I am feeling 85-90% now vs. the 60% I was feeling before. You have to also realize there may be a new 'NORM'. Embrace it ha ha. Best of luck to you and I hope you are feeling 100% soon.
