Exercise and work

I just got a dual chamber pacer for a second degree type 1, Wenkebach rhythm last Wednesday.  I enjoy working outside on my 5 acre property.  I have two horses and I do heavy yard work.  I enjoy swimming, scuba, and some moderate weight lifting.  I also work as a nurse in a trauma ICU, which can get physical.  What can I expect as far as limitations?  I'm concerned how this will effect my lifestyle.  Does anyone have suggestions, experience or advice?

My only limitation with a pm is climbing stairs or running.  I get out of breath  I compensate by running slower when starting out and my heart seems to catch up and I run at a faster pace.  I've run and lifted weights most of my life.  As I've stated before having  a pm put a chip under my skin and on my shoulder.  I've always had a physical job and being "in shape" has always been a priority.  I'm working full time at 70 and have no plans to retire.

There are a lot of people on this board that have a very active lifestle and have had for years.  May you always have a large chip on your shoulder.

Best wishes,

M. Scott

Once you fully heal, you should be able to do everything you listed.

Scuba, check with your manufacturer to see how deep you can go. Mine is rated to 4atm.

I work as a Mason and got my ICD installed last November, once I healed I was back to slinging bags on my shoulder, wailing on stone and walking a touch less than I was before. I'm basically just working myself back up to my previous fitness level and other than never being able to turn on a generator and being very aware of the machines in mechanical rooms I had no real changes, even still work outside in -10 degree Fahrenheit weather just fine. Get yourself a Fitbit, it's a great peace if mind.

generators

I live in hurricane country and have run our generator. Don't linger but it's ok as long as we get in and get out. Same for jump starting a car, just don't ake any longer than necessary.

generators and more

As most of our generators are old as f**k and less than well cared for I take care around them and any time we use one there has to be two people there to get it on and off a truck so it's not a real issue. also, I forgot I cant use air hammers anymore, my ep was VERY concerned, I can electric ones but air hammers vibrate too much. My new rule is if it vibrated so much I could feel my arm vibrating afterwards I dont use it.
