4 month check up

Had my 4 month check up for my device and it went great. The doctor was happy with the healing, never had to use the device at all and everything is looking great. They paced my heart to make sure it worked and that was weird, felt like someone had a thumb on my heart and was pushing, was not a fan.

I know what you mean. I've had my pacemaker for 4 years and have come to expect the speeding up etc, to check the pacemaker is working right. Still sorta scarey, like you are having a panic attack.

that's what it qas

damn techs.

I have had some techs I really hate.  Some are good and tell you some dont and just hit you with the tests.  I am 30 years into this so that is a lot of visits.

Theres the speed you up one you start breathing harder, never quite feels like they slowed it back down again.  Then there is the elephant on your chest one where you feel like you stopped breathing.  Really want to punch the tech for not giving you a heads up on that one.  When I switched to a three lead the first test day of or maybe it was morning after there was a new test and it hurt, so was a bit worried on the next visit but have not had those hurt again was just that one time.

I stopped getting upset about it, you know what is coming, sometimes you can see them operate the thing and when they are pressing and holding the button on the screen to run the test, you get the head rush you start the breathing or not and then its over...grand scheme of things it is like seconds, no biggie.

saying that I do wish we could give them all training classes and jack with their hearts to know what if feels like when they are doing it to us.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
