Hi, I'm new to the group so sorry if this has been covered before but has anyone out there had experience of kite surfing with a pacemaker? If so did you have any problems? I had mine fitted last September and have got back into snowboarding and cycling as well as non-upper body gym work, now I want to get back out on the water. I have some concerns but feel with a harness will not have any problems. Just looking for anyones experiences for peace of mind and for my wife's peace of mind, who is probably more concerned than I am. I'm 50 and consider myself pretty active. Thank you

Hi, I've not tried kite surfing ... yet, but it sounds like fun! I do go zip lining every time I get the chance. I have a dual PM and pace with it 100% of the time. I have some other issues as well. I've learned that I take on what I feel comfortable doing. I have promised my husband that I will tell him if I am feeling any fear, discomfort, pain or stress on my PM or leads. We now have an understanding about my PM. The PM allows me to live my life. We do all kinds of things together and he is my biggest fan! I got my 1st pm at 52 years old. So it's been awhile and I am getting my 3rd one in April.
So, if you are feeling fine with the harness, you don't have any other restrictions on your heart~I say test it out and see how it goes. I will be watching for pictures! My best to your wife, celebrate and enjoy!

Hi, I also had my pacemaker fitted in September. I do not kite surf, but do kite buggy.
I have been out several times flying depower foils on a harness, and also fixed foils on handles. All with no problems. At my check up 6 weeks after pacemaker fitting I asked about buggying and was told if I did it before there was no reason not to do it now.

I don't kite surf but don't see any reason why you couldn't. You are well healed by now. Did the pacer fix what was wrong or do you have other heart issues? As long as you are cleared for activity and the harness doesn't put pressure on the box or leads, you should be able to do whatever you want.
