Hello friends,
It's been a little over one year since my pm went in. All is well!!!
I'm 48 and have SSS. I passed out on St. Patricks day. After a trip to the ER they put in a pm because my bpm were in the low 30s. Since that time i have done 2 half marathons and a few shorter races. I'd like to share what I have learned over the past year. I'm fine physically, but it's taken me about a year to believe this. I think it is really critical to understand what is going on and to believe it. I have dealt with sever anxiety since the pm has gone in and now it's under control and all is well. Everyone here has been great with encouragement and support. God bless you all. One great piece of advice I got was, "relax, weird feelings are normal, you aren't going to die"
Take care friends,
Rusty

The "weird feelings are normal" is one of the most important things new pacers need to know.

hi rusty,
thanks for sharing your experience. I 'm dealing with anxiety problems right now. I boldy stated in another post recently, that I would not take my amxiety meds any more, but today I felt so nervous, I felt like i was going to pass out. so just a few minutes ago, I took another pill.-
Do you mind sharing with us how you dealt with your anxiety? have you ever been on meds for it and how did you quit them.
thanks
Elke
