run

hello all,
i recieved my pm about a year and a half ago for sss. I had passed out. I had a really tough time after the pm went in and it turns out the problem was anxiety related. Today i completed the 3rd half marathon I have completed since I got the pm. I hope this is encouraging to others who may be struggling with a new device.
Take care friends

We all eventually find our way and learn to cope, don't we? Frank brings up an interesting point. However, if a person is having heart arrhythmias caused by anxiety, shouldn't they be treated with meds and or a pacemaker? I wonder if the root cause of arrhythmias is really ever diagnosed correctly? Can arrhythmia be cured if it's anxiety related? I'm not trying to be argumentive, I have just wondered about these questions.

Anxiety

I often wonder how many pacemakers are implanted and how much meds are being taken for anxiety related conditions. This in not only the patients anxiety, but often the doctors anxiety.

Glad all is going well.

arrhythmias

I think anxiety does cause arrhythmias, but how to stop yourself from being anxious is another question.

I am at the moment reading one of the self-help books about anxiety. I know from experience that I suffer all the regular symptoms, the missed beats, the shortness of breath and in fact I can tick most of the boxes on the symptoms.

I went to my French doctor and he said to me "What is the worst thing that could happen to you when you are in one of these episodes' I didn't quite know how to answer. He said 'You could die". This sounded harsh at the time, but laying in bed one night feeling sorry for myself I thought about this and believe it or not I must have fallen to sleep. So I am learning to deal with things - I deep breath, make affirmations, and I do think I am improving.

Anyway, you are right bambi we all find our way and learn to cope in different ways.

Sport always helps me as well.

Take care

Jules
