Pacemaker

I was to my surgeon today 4/30/19 after having a previous complaint that my pacemaker had moved. Well it did not stop moving and it is now, you might say approching under my arm. I am 4 months out from my surgery, which was an emergency. I did not pay much attention to some syncope episodes I was having which landed me in the er where I continued to pass out. After an overnight temporary placement on my neck, got me ready for the next day surgery. There were no options or much conversation.

Well my Dr. was sort of non plused today 4/30/19 about the fact as to where it is sitting and I felt kinda dismised. The only thing is he says that it will be the same surgery as before. I was in pretty upset that he did not seem to take any accountability for the issue. He frightened me this time since I suffered some problems since the surgery. A blood clot in my left leg which I still have not gotten solved. I am 83 and an active women while being a senior, I still work and generally speaking I am happy but I felt dished today.

After you changed Dr. where did you go to have your PM checked. I was thinking of having a plastic surgeon a family friend who is a wonderful doctor might do the the re positioning for me. I would feel rather odd going back to the first placement doctor. I am not sure how to handle this.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, rvcjoa

If the clot hasn't been solved, will they even do surgery??

A plastic surgeon is an excellent choice to move it. EP's and cardiologists are concerned with the heart. A plastic surgeon will be concerned with making it look and feel good. My ep brought in a plastic surgeon and they worked together.

Shifting was most likely bad luck, not anything either you or the surgeon did wrong, so there's no reason for anyone to be taking accountability for anything.

If you aren't happy with your care, it's always ok to change to another practice. The new doctor will need to contact the manufacturer and change your records there, but they can take care of that for you.
