Good afternoon. I had my PM implanted 10/26/2018. I am still experiencing pain around the PM is this normal. I am not sure if it is because of my job or not. All of my doctors say that it is workin just fine. I am a School Bus Attendant, the streets in my county is very bumpy and sometimes i can feel it move a little, my doctors wont,n give me anything for the discomfort but told me to takeTylenol. Does anyone think that maybe I should shorten my hours or work 4 days a week instead of 5 days.
Thank you for listening

Pain around the site of the PM

7 months post op- pain is not normal. PMs should not be so loose as to feel them bouncing around.
I suggest you go and see someone medical who can physically examine you.

I reduced my hours bc I have nerve pain from the pacemaker. My doctor said I need enough rest and recovery and no aggravate it so I work 24 hrs a week for 6 mos.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
Pain around pacemaker site

I had a lot of pain around the pacemaker site after I went back to volunteering work at the woodshop. After I'd do a session of lifting, cutting, and moving wood it would sometimes feel like my pacemaker was wrapped in sandpaper. I'd spend the next four days taking aspirin and using hot and cold packs. Now I can do anything I'd like in the woodshop without any problems.
I still have problems when I ride in the larger trucks. They bounce around a lot and that bounces my pacemaker around too. Since I'm not the driver, what I do is to hold my pacemaker. It looks like I'm giving the driver a Roman salute. However it stops the pacemaker from bouncing around and keeps it from thinking I'm running.
I don't really have any suggestions as to how to hold down your pacemaker. However if your pacemaker is being bounced around that probably will make the pacemaker site sore.
