Someone wrote about a similar problem a year or two ago. Sorry, I don't remember what was causing it.

But he did a smart thing. Using his phone he video'd the thing ticking or jumping and showed it to his doctor. Once the doctor saw it for himself, he was able to make a diagnosis and the problem was cleared up.

Wish I could remember more.

Some movement good?

I had my first annual pacemaker checkup last April, and the medic said 'there's some movement there, good'. I'm not aware of my pacemaker 'thumping' though so your situation may be different to mine. I'm afraid the medic didn't explain why some movement was good, and I didn't have the wit to ask, drat it!

The movement they are talking about is the slight shifting around of the pacemaker within the "pocket" that holds the pacemaker just under the skin. That's good because where there is a little movement patients are less likely to have skin erosion over the pacemaker. Erosion is when the pacemaker can begin to come through the skin.

The movement Crystal is talking about isn't that.

This is how legends start. There is absolutely nothing in your husband's pacemaker that would cause it to jump.

Sometimes my chest throbs like you describe but thats my heart not my defibrillator.

What I described actually happens.  He finally has the Manufacturer doing a complete diagnostic on his device.  My husband feels it “twitch” and puts my hand over the Pacemaker site.  I CAN FEEL IT!!  Legend?  Really?  Is that all you can offer?  The implant was required because my husbands heart would STOP intermittently.  After 3 separate major heart attacked, a heart pump, 4 stents, maybe my husband is a LEGEND!!

I was hoping someone who's been around for a while would remember the post I'm talking about and be able to supply more details--particularly what the resolution was. I hoped you would be able to help.

It's true. Pacemakers have no moving parts. They ordinarily do not move, tick, or thump. The muscles and nerves underlying them can however, and for a number of reasons.

Hi there. My mom just had her defibrillator installed June 27th, 2019. Last night she began having pulsing in her left side. It’s severe enough that I can see it next to her. It looks like hiccups. Was there anything that others experienced similar and resolution?
