A few more details on the digitek recall.

4/26/08 - Actavis Totowa LLC is recalling all lots of the prescription drug Digitek, used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms, because some of the drug’s tablets might contain twice the approved level of the active ingredient. Spokesman John LaRocca said 11 people have reported getting sick after taking the drug, but the Morristown, N.J., company is not aware of any deaths. The drug was distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. under a “Bertek” label and by UDL Laboratories Inc. under a “UDL” label. For more information, consumers can call 888-276-6166 or visit http://www.actavis.us. Any reactions should be reported to the Food and Drug Administration’s MedWatch adverse event reporting program at http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm. more on recall

I received a phonecall from my pharmacist yesterday about the recall. He explained that the effected pills are twice as thick as the normal sized ones , and they almost look 2 pills are stuck together, therefore they have twice the dosage. He said that this is something you could see with the naked eye and if the pills look uniform and like the other ones I have been taken, there is no danger.
