here in Fl with maybe a hurricance is approaching. Do not have pacemaker monitor yet, but was wondering what happens if the power goes out. Does it come with a battery backup.? How does one go about tranmitting the info.?

When a difference makes no difference.

My monitor does not have battery backup. No electricity, no monitor. With no electricity no data transmission is possible.
I have mine plugged into a surge protector, but in a situation like a hurricane where power interrruption was predictable, I would probably just unplug it until the power came back on. I don't worry about not being able to transmit. Not at all.
Here's something to think about. You don't have a monitor now and are getting along without it. How different would your life be if you had had a monitor but had to to live without it for a few days--or a week or two--because there was no electricity?
no idea

We don't need the monitor every day so it doesn't much matter if it's out of power for a few days or longer.
They vary how they transmit the data. My Merlin plugs in but transmits using cellular. Regular checks are automated, it happens when I'm asleep. If i want to initiate a download, I hit the button then sit within 10' of the box until it stops blinking and beeping at me.
Stay safe! This morning's update showed landfall in my town, party time.

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.

My ICD is downloaded sometime in the wee hours of the morning and I transmit weekly. Occasionally my EP will download it as well, as I get a text when it is downloaded. I don't worry about the power outages from storms....nothing I can do. Unplug it and plug it back in when the power is back on. Call you ep's office if you have concerns.
