I am having issues with gas around my chest/heart area everyday. No matter what I eat or drink i always get really bad gas near my heart. The only relief I get from this is when i burp. It feels as if it is traped gas in my chest and this is ongoing everyday. I get short of reath from this and feel as if i cant breathe What would be a recoomendation to handl this issue cause antacids didnt work and alka seltzer only gave me a temporary relief.

It's most assuredly not gas building up in your chest. If that were happening, you'd be in dire straits (think collapsed lungs). Particularly since you say that burping alleviates the problem, it's most likely indigestion or perhaps acid reflux. Perhaps you even have a hietal hernia, or something similar. It's probably a good idea to have this checked out by a gastroenterologist. A good starting place is your primary care physician.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.

I have this same problem on occasion. Especially when I do strenuous activities or walk long distances quickly. I’m starting to think it is either related to a narrowing valve issue I am having and/or some afib I’m experiencing. A couple times when it was real bad the doctor actually called me the following day to check on me and to tell me I was in AFIB the passed day. They received a report from my pacemaker monitor. I told my doctor the same thing you said “My chest fill up with air and I only feel relief when I burp”. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
