Was called this Monday morning to see cardiologist, for an appointment for Tuesday which is tomorrow. Kept asking why she did not know. She finally asked the someone it is for an irregular heart beat. (Did think that might have been the reason, but wanted them to tell me). Shoud i be worried? First time called since implant Aug.21,2019. Which is one of the reasons for the PM.
Can think of a few times over the weekend it might have happened. Well will know for sure after i see him of course.

told the cardiologist this morning he needed to communicate better. Told him was worried. All it was was the results from Pacemaker check up at his office by Medtornic tech. If i heard him right was in Afib 7% of the time. From August to Nov. Mentioned Watchman again and blood thinners. Told him not interested in either. Said ok. Also heart walls are strong. Will have the Echo now every 6 months to keep an eye on the walls..
otherwise am ok, heart rate today was 68, blood pressure good. Even my hear murmur has improved.
Did ask him if he could be my GP, said he could and if i had something that was not in his field could go to Urgent Care, works for me.
thanks to all for your concerns.

Good News! Sorry you had to worry and yes could have been communicated better BUT like someone said if they think your life is in danger they would have sent you to the hospital.
I think its also good to know they are keeping an eye on you like that.
I remember the old days when a doctor would tell a patient to meet him at the hospital - more my Mothers generation.
Anticoagulant

New, it's certainly your option to take anticoagulants, or not, but you probably should think this through a bit. Strokes are no fun. Sure, they can kill but worse, they can leave you a near vegitable. I assume your CHADS score is '1' (age), which means "patient's option" but with any Afib, particularly asymptomatic Afib, the odds of a stroke aren't good.
There are anticoagulants that work very well and have few side effects. The chances of a bleed are higher but not as high as a stroke without an anticoagulant.

thanks AgentX86 i hear you. I am the first one in our family to have this problem. Yes my age and being female are considered risk factors.
my problem about any type of medications as am allergic to many of the fillers and coatings. Taking a supplement of Organic red yeast rice to lower cholestral which it really did in a month. So far no reactions.

stroke

Not as concerned with a stroke , rather the loss of use of my right shoulder. (am right handed) Since i have Avascular Necrosise which is rare for shoulder. The rod they use in replacement will be longer hence heavier. The vascular surgeron is against that surgery, said it would be better to have shots for pain. The dr. today said the tendons and muscle would be holding onto what bone is left. while the arm dangles.
Cholesterol isn't the problem

Your CHADs score is now considered to be '1'. The latest thought is that the point for sex only applies if you already have two points. You just have age going against you, so you're still in the "voluntary" category. Still, strokes aren't fun. If you can't take anticoagulants (thought the NOACs are quite easy on the body - but certainly not without some risk) you still can get the Watchman device. The process of implanting one isn't a big deal (much the same as an ablation). But, with a CHADS of '1' you could go either way. I know which way I'd go.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
