Replacement

what should I look out for knowing when I need to get my pm replaced??

Only thing that matters is does your PM allow you to do what you need and want to do?

Is your current box meeting your requirements?  Is your EP team happy with monitoring, remote surveillance, ease of management?

Is your entire system (PM + leads) MRI-compatible - just changing the PM box won't fix this if the leads are old?

Can you get an extended life (==bigger battery) version, to avoid too-frequent box changes, as you're young?

PM box replacement isn't always a walk-in-the-park, but no-one will know how much scar tissue they will have to dig through to get the old box out until they are in there.  Lead replacement is an entirely different matter - lots of folk here can give you really important advice if they need to replace a lead at the same time.  But if all goes well you could have your box replaced in <60min, under local.

I think that covers it!

Best of luck.

In addition to what Crusty said, it may be important to have the same manufacturer for the generator as the leads. MRI compatibility may be compromised otherwise. Radiologists are a paranoid bunch.

You know you're wired when...

You always run anti-virus software.
