healthy 51 years with pacemakaer

I am 51 years old no cholestrol, diabetes, i do work out. But for couple of years we have notice right bundle branch during ECG.  Out of breadth has been pretty normal for me. The doctors have not been concerned about this and always mentioned if it is not new then no need to worry.  Last weekend i was pretty busy entire weekend, doing lot of physical work. Two days later morning i was feeling very dizzy, i checked my pulse it was very low. My wife drove me to my family physician and from there to ER and then came out with a pacemaker.

Is there anything i could have done when earlier since i already knew there was right bundle branch indicator in ECG?

Is there any male around this age (51) who has pacemaker implanted

I'd just like to add that beating yourself up about what you could have done differenty is a useless, no counterproductive, exercise.  It doesn't matter how you got here.  Here you are.  The only question is; where do you want to go? There are very few things that you can't do with a PM but one thing you cn do is live!

Same for me

I had no other health issues either.  I just noticed shortness of breath when running and climbing stairs.  I had a physical and EKG showed RBB.  From there to a cadiologist and all the tests.  This started when I was 56 and got the pace maker this past September.    It is a mental adjustment.  I am running again after a updates to my PM and I weight train a little with no issues.  I wish I didn't have a PM but it is great to have this technology.  Without it my heart would continue to get weaker and I would not be able to do anything strenuous without getting tired and sometimes a little dizzy.  Sometimes things just happen.  I did have a genetic test but there was no smoking gun.  Even if there was there is nothing I could have done about.  Just hang in there.  Folks are very supportive on this site and you are not alone.

Thanks

ar_vin thanks for your comments. Looks like the person who implanted my PM is an EP.  I will be meeting him again after 3 months. Last week went to a Cardiologist who checked for other things and mentioned everything looks normal. It is going to be a yearly visit. Went to the EP's office to check the PM, everything looked ok.

AgentX86 , Ms M and Dh13  thank you for your comments.

One thing I am doubting now is probably i need to check for sleep apnea. Because when i get up i feel tired even after i think having good amount of sleep. the same seems to be continuing after implanting the PM. I was thinking probably because of flu seasons i am having the disturbed sleep. Need to check with the doctor.

I do read in studies that there is a relation between sleep apnea and Brachyardia

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
