It does it automatically - usually every quarter. It should show you your upcoming scheduled tramissions

automatic transmissions

Hello JimmyandJeremy,

Do you have an automatic transmission service direct to your pacemaker clinic set up?  If so, this should automatically check your pacemaker, say nightly or as frequently as it has been set up to do, and download your pacemaker data to the Medtronic website/your pacemaker clinic regularly with no input from you.

Do you have a patient assistant telephone by your bedside ?  If so, you can automatically send a transmission to your pacemaker clinic at a time of you choosing, say when an event happens and you want your doctors to assess what has occurred.

The Medtronic App is another way to transmit data but if you have the automatic service already set up, you may not need this personal App as well, however useful it might be.

Have a word with your pacemaker clinic if you are uncertain about what has been set up and suggest that you would like to use your Medtronic App if you are not being remotely monitored??

My Care Link App-Medtronic

My sister has a Medtronic MY Care Link App, and as I understand it (from my sister's experiences and reading about this App on the Medtronic website, your pacemaker sends transmissions to the App via bluetooth wireless, and the App sends the reports automatically to the Medtronic site/your pacer clinic/doctor without your having to do anything manually. The frequency of these tranmissions is set up by the clinic, but in general they are sent every three months.

My Care Link users are instructed to leave their phones with the app on a night stand or somewhere in close range (within 6 feet or so?) of them at night as the pacemaker will send transmissions to the app sometime during the night.

You might want to ask your clinic about the frequency of these automatic transmissions from the app. You generally don't have to do anything other than sleep next to your phone, unless you are instructed by your clinic or doctor to initiate a manual transmission.

I'm not sure whether individual notifications of upcoming transmissions or of successful transmissions by the app are automatic or set up by the clinic. My sister gets notifications (either by text or email, not sure which) of an upcoming transmission date (I think her clinic may send that, it's identified as an appointment for 3-4 AM, LOL), and she gets notifications that each transmission was successful. These successful transmission notes with dates and times are also stored on the app so you can access them anytime you want.

The only issue my sister ran into was when the MyCare Link app would close or inactivate on her phone. She was notified by her pacer clinic about this and she had to reactivate the app. This happened a couple times, until she realized that what was closing the app was a power saving feature on her cell phone that inactivated what were deemed "unnecessary" apps during overnights or times of low useage. She fixed that, and makes sure that this app is open  regularly.

I don't

by AgentX86 - 2020-03-05 22:05:28

I'm supposed to press the button twice a year and visit in-office twice a year.  I forget to push the button and no one sees to care, so I don't.  I have to go in twice a year to get my clock set (ST to DST and back).  I don't hesitate to make an appointment with the device tech if I think I need a tweak but that's settled down as things have settled in.

I have used the box when I have a problem that I think my EP needs to know about.

Medtronic

I report to Medtronic every 3 months, after each report, which I do from home, except on the 6 month mark I go to the pacer clinic, I get a text message letting me know my next at home check appt.
