Since my EP wasn't able to address my third lead issue, he suggested we get together with a cardiovascular surgeon to place a lead into the heart outside a vein.Anyone here have any experience with cardiovascular surgeons getting involved with their PM and/or PM leads?

ditto. over time the person I talked to at the visits would do the pacer test, talk to me and do the surgeries. then techs did the test and the doc talked to me and did the surgery. The pratice I use now, techs do the testing, the EP talks to me and a surgeon does the surgeries. I have no issues with this way of doing things.

I've been paced longer than ep's have been a thing. My first 3 were done by a cardio-thoracic surgeon. He mostly did open heart surgeries, I was always his easiest job of the day. When he retired, I switched to an ep. EP's mostly deal with the electrical systems, cardiac surgeons know their way around the chest. I'm no expert but it makes sense to me.
Outside the vein is called epicardial.
