Hi Everyone! I am five weeks post PM fitting. Prior to the PM, I was very active and taught a number of fitness classes a week. Two days ago I started light weight lifting again as well as running on the treadmill. Today I notice that there is a bit of swelling around the PM site. Is this normal?

Yeah, you're probably doing too much too fast. You can't just go from zero to full blast overnight. I highly doubt that you're done any permanent damage but listen to the pain. "Doc, it hurts when I do this." "Well, don't do that!"

That's perfectly normal. You've got fresh scar tissue and you likely aggravated it. Ice will help. Things to beware of are red streaks, heat, oozing, fever.

Thanks for your responses. I cut back on the upper body exercises for now and have been icing it a couple of times a day. Thanks again and I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during the coronavirus situation....xx

pm area swelling

I would suggest icing it after working out. Make sure you follow your physician's time frame on working out, particularly the use of the pm implant area. You will be moving your pm around, breaking up scar tissue, etc. When I do a non-routine activity, I still grab an ice pack afterwards, as it will get slightly sore. Be patient!
