Very Painfully at Incission points

I had my pacemaker single lead ( for brachardy) in Hopsital last Monday morning 4th May20  and released from hospital after 3 hours. Seems pm works fine. However I am constantly very painfull  in the incision area which does not subdue with paracetamol, there is no redness and no fever but little bit swelling. Is this normal after almost 3 days from the implant?

It's normal to take a little longer to feel better. Are you icing? I found that helps more than meds.

Perfectly normal.

Tracey_E has said it all.

Mine was painful for about a week and I had to sleep sitting up because it was too sore to lie on.  It's amazing how quickly it gets better though.

Best wishes and welcome to the wonderful world of pacing.

Yep. My incision was sore for a few days then got better. At about 8 days it felt like stabbing pain at the incision and I went back to the ER. They couldn't find anything wrong, but suspect a staple or the device was pinching a nerve real bad. The next day it was fine and I've been fine ever since. The incision takes a while to heal. If it is really really bad you should call your doc, but otherwise it should settle down. I had two staples and sutures, so there is bound to be some pain. Mine was also under my peck muscle, so that can also contribute to more pain.

Thanks for your comments

Today went to hospital as the swelling seems to have increased and also have some bruising. They watched my incision which is healing nicely they said. They gave me another 4 days to watch and if I notice redness around the swelling or have fever to call at the emergency before. Thank you for your innput.
