Pain in armpit

Has anyone had pain under their armpit after having the implant? I have some pain there but I think it's because I just haven't been lifting my arm over my head since the surgery. Now that I can I'm guessing it's just sore from not moving that way for so long.

Pain!

Hi,
It seems to be very common for a lot to get pain in the arm and armpit area. Sometimes the pm can be sitting on a nerve which can cause some of the pain. Other times it's just from like you said not being able to use your arm much after surgery. I suggest that you start working with your arm little by little but don't make yourself hurt no reason for that. The healing process takes some time.
You aren't the only one to have that i've seen it posted a lot where that pain gets annoying. I wish you luck on your recovery keep asking questions.

pain + armpit=parmpit

Hi Kyle,
Do you like my new medical term for pain in the armpit? lol
Anyway, what you think is happening could very well be the problem. How long has it been since you had your pacemaker implanted? If its been quite awhile, then I think the pain is from not moving. But, you should always check with your doctor, especially if it gets worse.
And if you need more time to recover, then have your doctor write a note to excuse you from work or whatever until you feel great. They would understand.
Unless they're like my coach, who says "excuses are like armpits: they all stink."
I hope you feel better with the pain. Keep us posted.
take care,

Exercise

by auntiesamm - 2007-05-24 04:05:44

Hi Kyle, We are all different, but with some people it doesn't take much inactivity to cause pain in the arm/armpit and shoulder. It is possible to exercise your arm without raising above shoulder level. Your doctor should be able to provide some basic suggestions. LOL! Because I had experienced a frozen shoulder several years ago from EXCESSIVE use I didn't want to experience it again. I stretched my arms out straight and did small circles. Swinging the arm gently back and forth without going above the shoulder. Just very simple, mild activity should help ease the pain. BUT, check with your doctor first. I hope you get some relief soon.
