I receive a pm Thursday. Will I be released same day?

As AgentX86 says it's common for new PM implants to be done as day cases - no overnight stay. I also had mine done under local only, but many EP docs prefer to add in some IV pain-relief/sedation.
Here in the UK you're not allowed to drive for a week after PM implantation and there may well be restrictions where you are, so you'll probably need someone to ferry you.
Best wishes.
Or maybe not...

Had mine in at the Cleveland Clinic last year; otherwise symptom free. They wanted me to stay overnight to check things out the next day before sending me home. I was home by 1300 the next day.
You got this!

Seems like most people are outpatient, I had mine put in a year ago and spent the night because my blood pressure dropped a couple times and they just wanted to keep me for observation. (Also my insurance approved me for 3 nights if for some reason I needed it, so it gave me piece of mind to stay a night.)

A lot depends on why you need a pacemaker, your general health otherwise, what sort of ansthesia you have, the time of day that they do your surgery, and how the surgeon feels that day.
I only had local anesthetics and would have been discharged if I weren't dependent after. If your surgery is in the late afternoon and have a general anesthetic, there is a good chance you'll be in overnight. There are all sorts of permutations. Ask your EP/surgeon, though he probably won't know for sure until after the surgery.
