I have noticed that after doing the exacty same exercise (walking up flights of stairs) my heart rate goes up to over 120 one day and less than 105 other days. I was wondering what causes the fluxuations. Is it better to have a lower heart rate after exercise or should I push myself harder to get my heart rate up ?
My EP only says that many of his patients who are on the same does of entresto as I am have a difficult time getting their HR above 100.

Fluctuations

Tracey gives good advice re not overthinking the numbers.
It has always seemed to me that cardiac electrical conditions can be intermittent in nature... you have good days and bad days.BUT don't get carried away with numbers, the only thing that matters is how you feel.

P.S. My cardiologist explained that I have a " lazy" sinus node .... but mine seems to be " bone idle " some days, hence the fluctuations.
You know you're wired when...

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.
pushing

If you felt good both times, don't overthink why the numbers might be different.
I wouldn't push it on the stairs on purpose just to get your rate up. If you are working out, how hard to push is a discussion to have with your doctor. But a good rule of thumb is go by how you feel. If you are working hard, feel strong, can talk but not sing, then whatever your rate is is good. It's probably going to fluctuate, we have pacers because our hearts are not normal in the first place.
