Hi
I have two heavy bulldogs that I would normally walk, they often pull me in two directions when they see other dogs or people they want to greet.
I recently had my top lead turned off due to lots of noise issues, don't really know what this means yet but will find out on 30th, my leads are 23years old.
I am now afraid that I won't feel confidant enough to ever walk them again, I worry the remaining lead could be damaged what's your opinion?

Hi Tracy
Thanks for your comment, it is very helpful to know your leads are 23years old and you do weight training ect, I just needed someone else opinion xxx
You know you're wired when...
You have a dymo-powered bike.

walk the dogs!

Unless you've been told not to walk the dogs, I wouldn't give it a second thought. 23 years is a perfectly respectable lead life so it's highly unlikely walking the dogs caused the first one to go bad. It's much more likely it just plain wore out, it's nothing you did. I had one lead replaced in 2010, my other lead is 26 years old now and still going strong. I lift weights, do pull ups, kayak, ropes courses, all sorts of things that pull.
If they said noise, that likely means the insulation is ruptured which interferes with the signal getting through, at least that's what happened to one of mine. Mine was the ventricular lead, the one I use so they didn't turn it off. It kept working up until the day it was replaced, it just drained the battery because they had to crank it up to get the signal through. That's my guess why they turned yours off, it's not the one you use and your battery will last longer this way.
Have you heard of a coupler? It's a small strap that connects to each dog, then you attach the leash to the coupler. It anchors the dogs to each other and forces them to walk together. When I had two big ones, it was a lifesaver.
