Hello, I had surgery Thursday July 23.. 2020 with a CRT pacemaker. I felt good the first two days but on the third day I have a weird feeling in my throat and chest area, not sure how to explain the feeling, like pressure or and a pulse feeling, most times it's when I bend over and or exert myself, I also feel a little winded at times. The other feeling is a flutter or gurgle just below my chest in the upper stomach area. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this feeling? Thanks

Odd throat feeling

Thanks arentas80, I hope it's just temporary as well, I do have a follow up appointment coming up so we will see what Doctor has to say as well. If I find out anything I will definitely share. 👍
Body sensations

Some people are more sensitive than others. Right after I got my pacemaker I had all sorts of weird feelings. Sometimes the weird feeling would go all the way up into my jaw on the same side as my pacemaker. After the weird sensations went away I finally chased the sensations down to three major things.
First was due to the fact they had increased the voltage on my pacemaker. I could sometimes feel the tickle of the electric pulse followed by the hard thump of the heartbeat. At or about 90 days they dropped the voltage and I no longer felt the activation of my pacemaker.
Second was tissue swelling. They had done CPR on me. Then, when I was in the hospital before I got my implant, I had had quite a few IV's. Consequently my body was both beat up and swelled up because of all the extra fluids. That increased the sensitivity I had and made me feel more "unusual" things.
Third, the body has to adjust to having a foreign object implanted. It takes a while for the brain to adjust to having something new.
Hopefully you're having some of the same problems and the sensations you're feeling will start to go away.
Weird feelings

Thanks Theknotguy, a good point you made about body needs to adjust to the foreign object, I am sure my body needs to adjust to a lot with this thing. I do hope the sensation that I feel will go away, it's very uncomfortable. Funny thing is I feel worse right now than I did before the pacemaker. I never really had any noticeable symptoms.. just the doctors and machines used to check my heart tell me i needed the PM. I had been on medication for a year and a half, did help but not enough to bring my EF numbers up to where I wouldn't need the pacemaker. So here I am almost five days into it. Thanks again
give your doctor a call

It could be normal healing, but I would let your doctor know. They may want to do an xray to make sure the leads haven't moved.
I had the same

Hi I had the same issue for about 2 weeks after surgery and then it got better. Mine started on the table as I think the Dr hit a nerve whilst guiding the wires or something.
Hopefully it resolves for you :)

Thank u for the comments . I had my pm in feb 2020.sometimes i cannot explain how i feel.the worst thing is sleepless nights.I think i need to know more about living with a foreign object.
You know you're wired when...
You always run anti-virus software.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.
Felt the same!

Hello!
I know the feeling all too well. Unfortunately I'm still searching for an answer. I meet my 5th EP today. If I get anywhere I'll be sure to let you know. I got my PM in Dec 2019 and I still feel it. I hope yours is just part of the healing and will subside ASAP. All the best :-)
