Check you device manufacturer's web site. Medtronic has a list of precautions and recommends a welding current of less than 160A.

Done all types of welding and used a chainsaw since my implant and had no issues. Not even a rate change.

I am 100% pacemaker dependant and have been all my life. I try not to think about how a little metal box keeps me alive - it would drive me crazy. So I lead a very active life.

MIG and TIG are ok, ARC is not recommended. That said, we have had members post that they've done it. If you do a search for welding, there have been some detailed discussions on it in the past. (search button is the tiny little icon at the very top right, lots of people miss it)
