Thank you Crustyg. Since decreasing the ADL sensitivity my tachycardia with minimal exertion has resolved. I am still perplexed as to why my HR remains at 130 (maximum ventricular pacing limit) long after I crest a steep hill and then gliding for a significant amount of time. Today this occurred on road bike on smooth pavement. It eventually comes down but I do not need 130 going down a hill! I wonder about the deceleration adjustment. I think it is set at 10 minutes. What is it and what is the "exercise" setting.
Thank you for any input.

I'm running in the Chicago marathon.
I agree - a shorter reduction period would make sense

The standard setting for BostonSci to reduce the pacing rate in Rate Response is two minutes. This provides a reasonable balance between keeping the HR too high for too long, and dropping HR too quickly and potentially your BP so that you feel faint - or worse.
10min to reduce seems too long to me. I can understand that some patients might need more than two mins, but in your shoes I would be asking to have that period of time reduced.
Mind you, I always look at the percentage time spent in each HR zone after a cycle ride - it has to be near max effort for it to be 70% in the highest range for me. I always ride with a chest strap so I have some idea of what's going on. And there are some great rides where it would be great not to be nearly at lowest HR for a short climb before the next descent, so perhaps I could usefully have mine decrease time *increased* to 3min!
Best wishes.
