Thanks Pookie

I posted a message about 3 weeks ago with my concerns qbout an upcoming MIBI test. I thanked Frank for his response but was saving my response to you Pookie until I got the results. I had the test on July 7 & 8 and have been awaiting the results. I have called the cardio. 3 times telling the nurse that I am still having dizzy spells and would like the results of my MIBI. She tells me she will look up my file and call me back. No such luck. I had such a dizzy spell last week in a store and had to quickly crouch down close to the floor because I was sure I was going to pass right out. I must have looked like such an idiot. lol I guess if there was anything serious I would have heard about. In the meantime I'm not impressed. What I am impessed with is the time you took to put your detailed response to my post together Pookie and I thank you very much for it. It's nice to hear you are feeling at least some better. I am constantly rooting for you
Thanks again, nuka

Well now that's probably the boot in the behind I needed. lol Here is the funny part (well not funny ha ha) My cardiologist is the head of cardiology in the hospital where I had the test done. Yup, he's the man who was hired a year ago to whip the department into shape. Go figure.

Get after them

There is no excuse for that kind of delay in getting your results to you. My suggestion is to stop by the office and personally let them know that you want a copy of the report. Let them know you are not happy with their service.

By the way if the test was run at the hospital or a clinical lab you can request a copy of the results from them. I make that standard procedure for me. That way if the cardiologist hasn't completed the report the hospital records department will put heat on him.

Bottom line is that if you meekly wait for service that is what you will get.

best of luck,

Nuka, I know what you are going through. My cardiologist owns/runs most of the hospital/heart offices in this 3 story bldg. He is good, but HE sure knows it! His attitude is open the door, come in the office, shake hands, nod his head, go out the door. To heck with questions.

For convenience, I am thinking about moving across the city closer to my home area (still 20 miles away), but maybe I will get a cardio. who has some bedside manners. Of course, my original cardio. is over most of the cardio. Dr.'s in this city. He will still be 'the boss', and I will still use 'his' heart hospital.

Thankfully, any tests have not been 'earth shattering.

Good Luck to You,

I totally agree with Frank.

There comes a point when enough is enough and you just have to politely demand your test results if you haven't received them yet. If that means showing up in person, so be it.

I just hate to see any of our members go through what I have endured during the last 5 yrs so I know what it feels like - so I try each day to help where I can on this awesome site. Keeping in mind that I cannot work and have the time to respond, but more importantly, I want to be able to help where I can, it makes me feel like I have a purpose each day.

I am not a medical professional by a long shot. But I've been through the medical system long enough and often enough to know what should be considered a reasonable amount of time for getting results, etc.

Yes, hospitals and doctors are extremely busy, but we are human beings with a problem in our hearts and frankly that worries most people....right? I just wish the medical community would have a little more compassion as our not knowing what is going on with us or what is happening to us, is or can be, extremely stressful on us and on our families too.

I guess I'm just wishing for a perfect medical world and I really don't think there is such a place....yet. Sure there are thousands of wonderful doctors out there, I'm not saying they don't exist....as I've read countless posts here where members are tickled pink w/their doctors. Too bad we couldn't clone the good doctors!!!! And by good I mean that they will listen, they will take you seriously, they show compassion, etc. We are scared sometimes and we just want to be heard, right?

However ~ we all have this great site with numerous members reaching out to help one another and that, to me, just warms my heart and brings a smile to my face, knowing we are not alone and we can come here ANY time and find someone to listen & support us.

And you are more than welcome Nuka & thanks for rooting for me. I'm feeling much better, but I still have a long way to go, but I believe with every iota of my being that one day I will get my life back. I'll never give up hope.

Take care of yourself :) (and keep us posted)

Hugs,
Pookie
