Lifting with opposite arm

Nothing was said after surgery or in the post op paperwork about restrictions of weight lifting with the arm opposite of your pm. Are there any. Yesterday i lifted a jug of water about 40#'s with my off arm, going to call dr today, but thought i'd ck with you guys first, thanks

They tell us not to lift for a period but that's so you don't rip open the wound. It's not going to bother the leads at all. There isn't the motion to pull at the leads. Lifting on the opposite side isn't good, at first, either because you naturally tighten and compensate with the other side. Once the wou d is healed adequately, it's not going to matter. If you didn't rip something, and you'd know it, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd try not to do it but if I got away with that it, it wouldn't ruin my day.

I was told restrictions were for the left arm. I don't think I would have been up to lifting 40# with either arm right after! How long has it been? Do you feel ok? If you feel ok, you are probably fine but it never hurts to ask.
