Hi, I have just had a pm fitted and my husband has changed the induction hob to ceramic, reading the comments on here there is no definitive answer whether ceramic is any different to induction. Can anybody help, I’m getting small palpitations at random times.

If the "burner", for lack of a better word, is either completely covered by a pan or there is no pan at all, they're safe. If the pan is off-center, serious magnetic leakage can occur. Interference with pacemakers has been documented.

I had a new kitchen with an induction hob fitted a year before I needed a pacemaker. I considered replacing it with a ceramic job but induction is so much quicker. I have been getting my husband to stir everything as it says you should be 2 feet away from the hob. If I do it myself I stand well back and I have had no ill effects.

I had a new kitchen with induction hob fitted around the same time as my PM went in -- I've always stuck rigidly to the advice from the cardiologists: don't lie face down on it when it's on and you'll be fine.
You know you're wired when...
You have a new body part.

Induction hobs *do* generate a powerful magnetic field to produce heating in the utensils above the coils. But unless you place your chest down on top of the hob they really aren't an issue for a PM.
Ceramic hobs just use straightforward resistive heating to produce an intense IR beam that heats the cooking vessel - no significant mode to affect a PM.
I understand your hubby's desire to protect you, but IMHO it's been a waste of time and money. And cooking on induction is really great, ceramic is a very poor second. But that's only my opinion.
I think you're going to have to look elsewhere for the cause of the palpitations you're experiencing.
