Hi all
It's been a long haul since July to get anyone to listen to me, as lots of you know my top lead broke while having a box change in July, the Dr said I didn't need the top lead just the ventricle, I went on to develop such horrible beats that I feel in my chest and neck beats I have never experienced in 23years of having a PM got a second opinion from a technical team in another hospital who say I must have a new lead, it's taken 3 emails 2 voice mail to the Dr who did the procedure from the techs at the other hospital, I have been at my wits end and have finally been booked in for a phone consultation on Tuesday and I am worried sick that he is going to fob me off I just need my lead put back in. I know how I should feel living with a PM and this is not it, sleep is impossible avarage 3 hours a night as soon as I reach my pacing number 60 it pounds in my neck its just horrible just can't live like this

Well done for being persistent

Sadly, Maureen, you're stuck in the battle of wills. The good news is that so far, you're winning. It isn't meant to be like this, obviously, but you really *are* stronger and more persistent than they are.
Keep going, and maximum charm for as long as possible (personal experience speaking there). Virtual hugs from elsewhere in the UK.
So so sorry you are experiencing this.

Some EPs are known for not listening and for being arrogant. Your first priority is your health and getting yourself taken care of. Keep in mind that you can always file for a disciplinary action with the Board of EP's.
Leads

My EP graduated at the bottom of his class. I don't expect much from him, and he never disappoints. I had all 3 of my lead extracted afyer 10 years and replaced and the St Judes rep who participated in the procedure said they popped right out, no problem. He also said, as I have felt for a long time that the "difficulty" removing leads is exaggerated.
If they won't replace your lead, replace them.
You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

Prepare yourself well

Maureen,
Do you want to run a few questions/statements past us to discuss with your EP? If you are well prepared, positive about your needs and what you want (and that you won't take no for an answer) you will not be fobbed off. However if you enter the telephone consultation without taking the "lead" he might try to reassure you and leave matters as they are. So what is your strong case for the lead to be reinstated ??!! We have discussed this so hope you are well prepared
