I have bradycardia and I had a pacemaker put in 6 weeks ago. How long should I wait before playing golf?

This is really a question you need to ask your EP. The instructions vary all over the place.
6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks ???

Ask 4 Drs and you will get 4 different replies . I am certain that no clinical trials have been done with golfers who have been implanted with pacemakers.
If your EP is a golfer , it is likely that he would get you back on the course more quickly than if he is not ! . ( I always avoid obese doctors who never exercise themselves !! )
For what it is worth, my EP is a keen golfer himself and his recommendation was :-
- try playing 9 holes with a half-swing at 6 or 7 weeks
- try a few holes with a full swing at 8 weeks and play on if it feels OK
It worked for me ... I was ready to play a full round at 8 weeks.
I'm sure my putter wasn't faulty before I had a pacemaker though ; something has changed !
Best of luck
Ian

By now leads should be well embedded, Ian MC gives you good advice taken from his EP too.
My advice too is take it easy & listen to your body it will soon tell you if you overstep the mark! :-)

My golf game sucks since I got my pacemaker. Can't play the piano either.

My doctor said chip/pitch/putt is ok as soon as we feel up to it but wait 3 months for a full swing.
