100 % Ventricular paced

I did my remote transmission and I was told everything is normal.

Atrial paced --0.4 %

Ventricular paced--100%

What does this mean now if it is 100% paced.

Is this normal ? I feel alright and have 3.5 years on battery.

Bob sounds as though you have a total heart block now requiring 100% ventricular support, although your history doesn't really tell us much other than you had a slowing of your pulse 5 years ago?  It doesn't give any details on your pacing system either (presume dual chamber)?  If total block is the case, then your figures would be completely normal and expected and tells us that your condition has progressed over the 5 years and that you are now 100% pacemaker dependent.

The fact that you feel alright is more important than those numbers I would suggest, but your doctors may wish to keep a closer eye on your ejection fraction now that you are 100% paced in the ventricles.  This is because in some patients, heavy right ventricular pacing may eventually have a detrimental affect on ejection fraction because of a loss of synchrony between the two ventricles although many are paced a lifetime without any problems.  It might be worth asking your doctors though about regular echocardiogram monitoring to keep an eye on your ejection fraction.  Otherwise all sounds good to me

Most of us with 3rd degree block pace every beat, that's to be expected. Some start pacing less than that but most end up pacing 100% or close to it. Feeling good is the most important part! I've always considered myself fortunate to have a condition with a relatively easy fix.
