If something is new and painful, get it checked out.

Chest pain

Hello,

I can see from your history this sharp pain is not something new since you experienced this almost a month ago too.  Clearly it has not resolved and as Tracey says I would strongly urge you to get this checked out and the sooner the better.

It may or may not be related to your pacemaker but there is a good chance that it might.  My husband experienced sharp pain as you describe some months following his pacemaker implant.  He was eventually found to have had a pacemaker injury causing fluid to build in his lungs (pleural effusion).  He needed antibiotics and a short course of an anti inflammatory to clear this up.  He was also investigated for other imflammatory conditions including pericarditis which causes inflammation of tissues surrounding the heart.

As you can imagine sharp intermittent pain in the chest may be significant, so it really needs to be investigated.  Do you have a rapid access chest pain clinic in your local hospital?  Most hospitals do over here in the UK.  Otherwise I would go to the ER for assessment.  Good luck
