It feels like a distant memory but over a couple of months have past since my pacemaker was fitted and I'm now doing a couch to 5K running regime along with a some bike rides.
I've not pushed my heart to pre-implant levels yet, I am going to wait until I have a definite appointment with the cardiologist before I do that.
It's so tempting though to push it as I had run my fastest mile in many years (5mins 19secs) a few months before my PM was fitted but I know starting slowly is the best approach.
My resting heart rate has in the last month consistently kept dropping from what was about 62 to now 57. This is probably what my resting heart rate was at my peak of fitness last year so that all seems good.
I thought it would be nice to post some good news for those in their early stages of recovery.
Have a great weekend all.
John

Thank you Tracey,
Your perspective on things certainly gave me a more positive outlook when you mentioned all the activities you particpate in.
I'll post my official 5k time in a month or so time.
Have a great weekend.
John
You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

John that is music to my ears. You have worked hard to achieve this and I am pleased you are feeling so much better. You have also learnt a great deal about your little device and about yourself too so you are in a much better place now.
Thank you for posting and I hope other members with challenging symptoms will be encouraged by your post. Have a good weekend too. The sun is shining at the moment and I am just on my way up to London to receive my Covid vaccine. Stay safe
